How much pain
can one person bear?
I don’t know
but tears drip from my cheek
when I see
Jaruslav
standing by the four coffins
in Lviv.

How much pain
can a country bear?

I wipe away the tears
and lift your
blue and yellow flag
for battle.

The battle for survival
the battle to still
be Ukraine
tomorrow,
that’s what
can bear the pain.
So we must hold each other
and cry
our lives dry of tears
on the day
the last Russian
is driven out of Ukraine.

The day the last
Russian missile
is shot down
on its way to innocent Ukrainians.

That day
we’ll share the pain
with each other
so we can live with
all of heaven’s heroes.
